Thursday’s Two Top Tips for Optimism

1.    “Truth is, I’ll never know all there is to know about you just as you will never know all there is to know about me. Humans are by nature too complicated to be understood fully. So, we can choose either to approach our fellow human beings with suspicion or to approach them with an open mind, a dash of optimism and a great deal of candor” – Tom Hanks

There will always be confusion in your life as long as you live. That is something that age and wisdom doesn’t change. However, this might not be as bad as you think. Always remember that whoever you’re talking to could be having just as bad of a day as you are, but your job as a GreenGrassOptimist is to change the direction of their day and push them toward a positive path leading them into a happier pursuit.

2.    “One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself. ” – Lucille Ball

Discouragement is the most prominent attribute we carry  when we fail. I can tell you from experience that one fall does not make it impossible to get back up. Start bringing a notepad with you everywhere, any time you start to feel pessimistic, take the notepad out and write everything down that you’re grateful for in that moment. This way the next time you feel a case of the “blues” coming on, you can immediately counteract it with some good ol’ fashioned Optimism.
